A Sharia Court in Nigeria has reportedly granted a woman’s request for divorce after her husband allegedly refused to repair her damaged Android phone.

According to reports, the woman, identified as Zainab, approached the court seeking dissolution of her marriage through Khul an Islamic process that allows a wife to initiate divorce, citing her husband’s neglect and lack of care as the main reasons.

Zainab told the court that her husband ignored her repeated pleas to fix her dam◇ged phone, an act she described as a clear sign of disregard for her welfare and emotional needs.

The presiding judge, Mu’awiyya Shehu, ruled in her favour, noting that the relationship had broken down irretrievably and that reconciliation was no longer possible. The court therefore approved her request for div0rce.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users describing it as a trivial reason to end a marriage, while others argued that the husband’s refusal symbolized deeper issues of neglect and lack of affection in the relationship.
