The Nigeria Police Force has suspended the enforcement of vehicle tinted glass permits following a court order. The Federal High Court in Warri, Delta State, issued the suspension order on October 3, 2025, directing the police to maintain the status quo pending further proceedings.
The police had introduced the tinted glass permit policy citing security concerns, arguing that some criminals were using vehicles with tinted windows to commit crimes. However, motorists and rights groups had criticized the policy, alleging harassment, extortion, and unconstitutionality.
