The Dangote Refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of its Cooking Gas, decreasing it from ₦810 per kilogram to ₦760 per kilogram.

The Dangote Refinery has indeed reduced the ex-depot price of its cooking gas from ₦810 to ₦760 per kilogram, making it the lowest rate in the country. This price cut is expected to bring relief to millions of Nigerian households battling soaring energy costs.

Market Comparison:

– Dangote Refinery: ₦760 per kilogram
– _Matrix and Ardova Depots_: ₦920 per kilogram
– A.Y.M Shafa and NIPCO: ₦910 per kilogram
– Stockgap Depot: ₦950 per kilogram

Industry observers view this move as a strategic intervention by the Dangote Refinery to stabilize Nigeria’s volatile LPG market and discourage arbitrary price hikes by middlemen. The price reduction is also seen as part of Dangote’s broader strategy to counter inflationary trends and make cooking gas more affordable for Nigerians.

However, despite this reduction, retail prices of cooking gas remain high in several parts of the country, with some consumers reporting prices between ₦1,000 and ₦3,000 per kilogram.
