There were times I wanted to stay in bed all day, close the curtains, and hide from the world. But my sôn pulled me out.

When he came back from school, I had to be thére. I had to smile. I had to be strong even when I was breaking inside. And in that, I found courage. He once told me, “Mom, someone is going to love you.” That pierced my soul because he saw the pain I was trying to hide.

I live to make him proud. I live to teach him kindness, respect, and honesty. He is my biggest reason to keep going, no matter how heavy the storm feels.
