A two-storey building collapsed on Modupeola Street, Mangoro, in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, around 6 p.m. Thankfully, six people were rescued from the rubble, including a 44-year-old man who sustained fractures and bruises.
Rescue Efforts:
– The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other first responders quickly arrived at the scene and rescued the trapped victim and five others.
– The rescued victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, with the injured man being transported to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency Unit.
Victim’s Condition:
– The 44-year-old patient, a resident of 10 Olabode Street, Alimosho, arrived at the hospital in stable condition and was immediately admitted for further treatment.
Investigation:
– Government officials have launched a probe into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse.
– This incident has reignited concerns about building safety in Lagos, with calls for stricter enforcement of building regulations.
