The recent attack on security operatives at Agu Centre, located on the border of Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Benue State, has resulted in a tragic loss of lives. – Attackers: Suspected armed herdsmen, reportedly supported by local militia gangs, numbering close to 1,000, laid an ambush and opened fire on the security team.
– Casualties: 16 security personnel are feared dead, with several others missing. Two Hilux vans were burnt, and several motorcycles were carted away by the attackers.

– Condemnation: Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun condemned the attack, describing it as “barbaric” and “an assault on our nation’s defenders.”
