Spotify has introduced a direct messaging feature within its app, allowing users to share music, podcasts, and audiobooks. This feature enables one-on-one chats with text and emojis, and shared content is stored in a dedicated inbox. Messages are encrypted, and users can manage message requests, block or report other users, and content is scanned for unlawful or harmful material.
The feature is available for both free and premium users aged 16 and older in select markets, and it’s currently accessible on Android and iOS apps, with web support likely coming later. This new feature aims to enhance user engagement and make sharing music and podcasts more convenient.
