The incident occurred along the Kaduna corridor, with passengers scrambling to safety in fear and confusion. Military personnel have been deployed to the site to assist in evacuating stranded passengers.
The cause of the derailment remains unclear, and there has been no official confirmation of injuries or casualties. According to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), the train derailed at 11:09 a.m. at KM 49 between Kubwa station and Asham station.
