When I was still struggling in the industry, I wrote a script and begged a producer to let me shoot it. They said yes, but when I got to the set, a senior crew member looked at me and said, “Who is this one? She doesn’t look like a star.” He tried to send me away like I didn’t belong.
I stood my ground and told him, “Even if I don’t look like a star now, one day you’ll watch me on the big screen and remember this face.” That moment hurt, but it also gave me courage. The movie didn’t make me famous, but it gave me the strength to keep going.
Now, I write, produce, and act in my own films. I’ve come a long way. No one can send me away anymore. I’ve earned my place.
