A young Nigerian Army officer, Lieutenant (Dr.) Samson Haruna, has reportedly lost his life in the most painful way possible — allegedly at the hands of his own wife.

According to verified reports from multiple news outlets, including Sahara Reporters, the sad incident happened at Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa, in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Lieutenant Haruna was said to be a medical doctor who recently joined the Nigerian Army and was serving as a Regimental Medical Officer with the 6 Battalion.

Sources claim that on September 22, 2025, he and his wife got into a heated argument — allegedly over suspicion of infidelity. Things escalated badly, and in the process, she reportedly poured fuèl on him and set him ablàzè. 😭

He was rushed to the barrack’s military clinic for urgent care before being transferred to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries.

As of now, the wife — identified as Mrs. Samson Haruna, who’s said to be a nurse — has been arrested and detained by the police, awaiting further investigation and possible charges.

Now, here’s the thing…
Some reports allege that the couple had only been married for about five months, though this part hasn’t been officially confirmed. Same goes for the alleged chèating rumours — no official source has verified that as the true cause of the fïght. But that’s what many people close to them are whispering.
