President TINUBU returns to Abuja after trips to Japan and Brazil

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, after a two-week diplomatic trip to Japan and Brazil. During his trip, he attended the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) and held bilateral talks with Japanese leaders and executives to strengthen economic and political cooperation.

Tinubu also visited Brazil on a state invitation, where he discussed economic cooperation, climate resilience, and South-South collaboration with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Nigeria and Brazil signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering areas such as aviation, foreign affairs, and security.

The trip resulted in the imminent return of Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil giant, to Nigeria, and the signing of a Bilateral Air Services Agreement to pave the way for direct flights between Lagos and São Paulo. Tinubu assured Brazilian investors of a stable and transparent financial climate in Nigeria.
